The single photo view in Luminar Neo's Catalog mode shows a filmstrip below right-clicking offers useful options, and you can pick, reject, and view the original unedited photo with icons under it. It’s not, however, very customizable, and there's not a lot of "getting started" type help, though given its simplicity and clarity, that's not a big issue. It’s far less busy than Capture One's interface, almost feeling more like a mobile app. The program’s compact and dark interface lets you concentrate on your picture. I had to allow the program to access my Pictures folder in Windows, since I had folder protection enabled in Windows Defender settings. Instead, it’s simply a File Explorer, but it’s not that hard to find your camera media folder and start working on the pictures. I would prefer that the Add Photos button could find attached camera media as many apps do, but it doesn't. Moving forward and backward through images in the catalog was also snappier than in most applications. My card with 858 files was “imported” in a few seconds. You can start viewing and editing instantly. Though this means you do without things like transferring image files from a card to your computer, it does get you to your pictures fast. You choose a folder and bingo, all the images it contains are added to your Luminar catalog. There’s no explicit import process in Luminar. On the first run, you see a very simple interface with a big Add Photos button. Skylum Luminar Neo's Catalog mode shows a grid of your images with a left-side panel for dates, folders, and albums, along with photo shot details. The company continues to improve the program's user interface and performance, as well. Upscale AI, Supersharp AI, Focus Stacking, Background Removal AI, Noiseless AI, and HDR Merge are the latest extensions, and I like the strategy of not forcing everyone to install lots of features they may not use. These come with the subscription pricing option or you can buy them each separately ($49) or all seven together in a pack ($299). Since my last look, Skylum has delivered a steady flow of what it calls extensions-really just optional features and effect modules you can install or not as you choose. Unique AI adjustment tools and filters-and the fact you can install it as a plug-in for the more complete Photoshop and Lightroom apps-make it a worthy addition to any photographer's software toolkit. It also gets layer support with a library of textures and overlays. It has a simple interface that's a pleasure to work in, and it retains the company's previous Luminar application’s sky replacement and extensive set of filters and editing tools. The impetus for Skylum Luminar Neo was the desire for a photo app that would make extensive use of AI to improve and enhance your digital images. Shortly after merging, the Mass Production Evas spawn growths from their mouths covered in faces of Rei. The Mass Production Evas begin by activating their S² Engines, and "merging" with the awakened Lilith. In Episode 26', they play a role in performing the ritual of Third Impact and in enacting the Human Instrumentality Project. However, their sustained injuries do not prevent them from assisting in the initiation of Third Impact, likely due to their possession of S² Engines. Following deployment, they use their wings to glide down towards Eva-02.ĭuring their operation, each of the Mass Production Evangelions engages in combat with, and is wounded severely by Asuka in Eva-02. The Mass Production Evangelions are first deployed individually using an aircraft, similar to the one used to deploy Eva-01 in Episode 07. The nine completed Mass Production Evangelions are ordered to deploy by Seele in Episode 25', in order to neutralize Evangelion Unit-02. The Mass Production Evangelions in free-flight, circling Eva-02 They carry no armament except for replicas of the Spear of Longinus, colored blue-gray and initially disguised as giant, gray swords (" ooken"). ![]() Eva-02 did not succeed in destroying the cores of any of the attacking Evas in its final battle, which resulted in their revival and Eva-02's subsequent demise. Mass Production Evangelions, like all other Evangelions, truly die only if their cores are destroyed. This presumably allows for a greater degree of control over the Evangelions than with a living pilot, who would be susceptible to sympathetic pain and emotions such as panic, fear, or rage which would impair the Evas' combat ability. Rather than being controlled by living pilots, they synchronize with dummy systems generated from Kaworu Nagisa's thought patterns. The Evas are observed levitating in a manner similar to flight-capable Angels (such as Ramiel and Zeruel) later on, with their wings spread but serving no apparent function. Considering the Evas' size and weight, traditional powered flight (as observed in birds, bats, and pterosaurs) would normally be impossible, so the wings would feasibly be used in concert with A.T. They also possess large, fully retractable, mechanical wings (with an extended "tail" piece), attached to their shoulders. However, unlike Angels, they do not utilize their organs for regenerative purposes (even though they theoretically could). The MP Evangelions have all been furnished with S² Engines, eliminating the need for umbilical cables or internal batteries. This is slightly confusing, since the "Eva Series" technically encompasses every Evangelion ever made. Within the series itself, these Evas are referred to almost exclusively as the "Eva Series" (エヴァシリーズ). The nine are deployed as part of Seele's assault on the Nerv HQ Geofront, but their primary function is to carry out Seele's version of Third Impact, which ends up utilizing Evangelion Unit-01. However, Seele had to advance the construction schedule for them, as they wanted to initiate Third Impact as soon as the final Angel was destroyed, and, as a result, three units were never completed. ![]() ![]() Nine MP Evangelions were created out of an originally planned twelve Evangelions (through Eva-16). They were manufactured in secrecy under Seele's mandate at seven different facilities around the world, including ones in Germany and China. The Mass Production Evangelions (エヴァンゲリオン量産機, Evangerion Ryousanki) are the final Eva units to be produced. ![]() ![]() ![]() Substitute out half of the butter in the frosting ingredients with solid vegetable shortening for pipable frosting. It's a triumph, a film that stars James Brolin, Sam Waterston and O.J. After directing two more films based on scripts by others (romantic comedy Our Time and mystery comedy Peeper), Hyams was finally offered the opportunity to direct his own, original Capricorn One script. He made his feature debut with the crime comedy Busting in 1974, which he also wrote. He directed his own teleplay for the crime comedy Goodnight, My Love, which earned him a lot of interest in Hollywood. Later, Hyams described himself as a writer "who didn't want to write for anyone else," which led him to televison. Baskin in 1971, which he also produced Herbert Ross directed. I knew that I wanted to combine imagery with writing and relevance." After spending six years in television journalism, he left his job with CBS News and wrote a script - which sold! He had already begun writing: "Not well, just prodigiously. Hyams was educated in the arts and "became consumed by photography," as he told interviewer Luke Ford in 2002. The reaction was, 'Get your car out of the parking lot!' It kind of baffled me and I put it aside for a few years." So I was watching these simulations and I wondered what would happen if someone faked a whole story." Reaction wasn't what he expected, however. "My generation was brought up to believe television was true, and that was bullshit too. I grew up in the generation where my parents basically believed if it was in the newspaper it was true. Louis where there was a simulation of what was going on. "Whenever there was something on the news about a space shuttle, they would cut to a studio in St. "I'd been germinating this idea for some time," filmmaker Peter Hyams told Empire in 2014. (The film is available to stream via FilmStruck, which is how I watched it, and also Amazon Prime.) In our current era, in which the term 'fake news' is hurled as an insult, without rhyme or reason or evidence, it's fascinating to rewind to 1978 and watch Capricorn One, based on the idea of an outrageous fake news story. One of the most entertaining '70's-flicks out there."A funny thing happened on the way to Mars." Karen Black and Telly Savalas also make some small, almost cameo like appearances in this movie. Perhaps it's true though that the movie is lacking a clear main character and the movie isn't always clear with on which character it is going to focus with its main plot. The movie also has a pretty nice cast with Elliott Gould, Hal Holbrook, James Brolin, Sam Waterston and O.J. It also had some real nice camera-work by Bill Butler. It's a really well made movie, that got directed with lots of pace by Peter Hyams, who has always been at his best directing action stuff, even though most of his movies aren't exactly among the greatest, this one not included. What also really uplifts the movie and its action and entertainment value is the great musical score by Jerry Goldsmith. But of course as you can expect from an '70's movie, there also is plenty of action involving cars and other great action stuff. No way they'll ever do a sequences like that again now days, with all those heavy regulations for stunts and of course the availability of CGI this present time. The plane and helicopters chase in this movie is pretty insane and was obviously very dangerous for all of those involved with it. It's a movie that I have always enjoyed watching and always will. It's such a great and entertaining movie that you're basically willing to forgive everything that is less great about it. It doesn't always make the movie the most believable one to watch out there but in this particular case that hardly matters at all. It's really mainly the concept and main story that makes this movie an interesting one as well as entertaining. It's a movie with a conspiracy story but luckily the movie decides to be more entertaining with it than heavy or serious really. It has a lot of elements in it that always make '70's movies such great ones to watch. The movie has a really great premise, that provides the movie with plenty of thriller elements and action. It makes this movie one of my favorite movies to watch from the '70's. Even though this certainly isn't the best movie you'll ever see, it's still a movie that is a perfectly entertaining one. ![]() ![]() ![]() Simply going through the motions without any challenge isn't all that enjoyable to me and there are plenty of moments like that within the campaign. With that in mind, Psychonauts 2 tends to follow a recent trend in games that I personally don't like which is that it holds your hand a bit too much. It's this constantly-changing gameplay formula that's Psychonauts 2's strongest asset as it'll keep you consistently intrigued as to what's going to happen next. One minute, you'll be 2D platforming on X-rays and the next, you'll bounce down a giant Plinko board. Aside from fighting, you'll also use your powers to solve puzzles and master platforming sections which is all impressively varied. ![]() Combat is well-adapted to these abilities and you also have a melee attack to fend off baddies that resemble negative thoughts such as doubts, censors, and such. Psychonauts 2's core gameplay is what you would expect from a 3D platformer but what makes it stand out as unique is its clever use of psychic powers such as the ability to levitate, set things aflame, change people's thoughts, and throw objects. Connecting the correct concepts is always super-easy Speaking of which, the visuals are well-done, too, although not as outstanding as other recent 3D platformers but it more than makes up for that with its exceptional degree of imagination that allows every moment to shine. The story begins with Raz becoming an intern at the Psychonauts agency yet his peers jump at the opportunity to play a practical joke on him. Plus, Raz is back with some familiar chums and plenty of new faces as well. Thankfully, Psychonauts 2 follows in the tradition set by the original with its psychological game world.
